We received this nice letter ..... Dear
Fergi, Alastair, Wull and Ian
St Andrew’s Night Concert
The Haven was delighted to receive your kind donation of £568 from
the St Andrew’s night concert featuring your band Piggery Brae. I am
delighted to let you know that our supporters had a great night in Cambuslang Institute and enjoyed your music and stories.
As you are aware, The Haven is a charity providing a support and
information service for adults and children affected by life limiting
illness such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and
Parkinson Disease. Our clients and their families come from Lanarkshire
and surrounding areas to use our service. Operating on a drop in basis,
without the need for medical referral, clients, their families and
carers can talk to a specialist nurse, therapist or trained volunteer
about any aspect of their diagnosis. Support services, such as
complementary therapies, counselling, group workshops and relaxation
classes are offered with the aim of reducing stress and aiding coping
skills to improve the quality of life, not only for those directly
affected by illness, but also for their carers and families.
On behalf of everyone at The Haven thank you for
your support and best wishes to your members in the New Year.
The money you have raised will make a great
difference to the lives of the families who use our services.
Yours sincerely
Connie Postlethwaite
