   Streets of Glesca's east-end

Braidfauld Street, Auchenshuggle

In the late sixties early seventies all the tenements around us in Bridgeton were being demolished, a sad time as all our friendships were destroyed as pals and neighbours were rehoused and moved to new housing in outlying places like Castlemilk, Sandyhills, Govan, we moved from Fairbairn Street to Auchenshuggle.  My Da lived there till his death on 30 Jan.2009.

( used to be the No.64 bus terminus

Our first house c1971 was
 two up right at No.215.
(No.215 is the first  close on the left)

A 3 bedroom house with an inside toilet and our first house with a bath!

Parents later moved along the road to a
smaller 2 bedroom house ...shown here.
