The book highlights a Glasgow Licensed Trade Stocktaker's visits, on stock check day, to pubs and clubs
throughout the city and tells the true tales of the serious and humorous problems connected with the everyday
running of them.... i.e. the staff fiddles, the Vat man and the dodgy customers!

Neil was born and bred in Bridgeton, Glasgow's east-end where he attended Strathclyde Primary and Riverside Secondary schools. A proud Brigtonian whose employment took him all over this fair city and over the years, encouraged by his wife Anne, he started to put his tales into words. Sadly Anne died 8 years ago and the book was put on hold, but recently was resurrected when Neil's daughter came across his writings and urged him to complete it and write a book. This he has done in memory of Anne.
