BAIN THOMAS McROBBIE. Suddenly at home, on

loved dad of Lilias, Thomas, Margaret, Wilma, Andrew and William, devoted
grandad, great grandad and brother of all the family. Cortege will leave
Taylor Brother Funeralcare, 517 London Road, G40, on Friday, 24th August, at
11.35am, for service at Daldowie Crematorium, arriving at 12 noon, to which

Tip Top
whenever wee Tam was asked "how are ye doing?" His reply was always 'Tip
Top" |
.
Last Year Tam mentioned to me that his boys went to
Church House, it was then rather fitting that St.Francis-in-the-minister
Rev.Howard Hudson should take the funeral service.
We entered the crematorium to the strains of 'marching through Georgia' yes
the Billy Boys tune.
The service was short apparently Tam had told his family "nae long
service for me, make it quick and get back furr a good swally". The
minister obliged and after a short service we departed from the crematorium
to the sound of TinaTurner singing "Simply the Best"
|
Apr.2006. He greeted me with a warm smile and friendly handshake,
we met as strangers and departed as friends.

Webmaister. Sorry to hear about Tam.
Would Tam be the last of the original Billy Boys? A major part of
Glasgow history has gone with Tam. Thanks John.

Hi Webmaister I have put on the GlescaPals Messageboard about my uncle
passing away this morning.
Bill McTear
known as
Mucky
was a well known Brigton man, I feel quite sad as he was the last surviving
member of that generation.
I was looking through the website as I knew
you had photos of Tam Bain's funeral and my uncle
Bill
can be seen standing outside Taylor bros what a coincidence as Tam also
passed away on the 18th August.
In the photo above Bill is the man with the grey raincoat on speaking to the
women on the right. My uncle Bill
would have been 83 yrs old on the 10th Sept. |
