older scramble

A "scramble" in Gemmel Street, Bridgeton, 1955. Originally called James Street, Gemmel Street disappeared during the redevelopment of the East End during the 1980s.
Credit here goes to the Partick Camera Club who in 1955 embarked on a photographic project of Glasgow streets.

03 Feb 2018 Email:  David Anderson, Age 69, Edmonton, Canada
In the 'scramble'  I am the boy with the short trousers in the photo and my mother is the one wearing the scarf and high heels.
We lived at 30 Gemmel Street. I attended Anfield Primary school (Cubie Street), my teacher was Miss Minty
Uncle Mick and auntie Annie lived above Huie Hurl's pub on the corner
The only neighbours I can remember were called Raminski
