The boys wear the Brigade's
distinctive twin-striped pill box hats, along with
white haversacks and brown brass-buckled belts.
The officers wear Glengarry caps and tan gloves, and
each carries a short cane. Many boys are holding
their band instruments.
This BB company was founded in 1894 in connection
with Shettleston Parish Church & met initially
in Hill St.Hall.
When Shettleston was annexed by Glasgow in 1912
the name of the company was changed to the 94th
Glasgow (1st Shettleston) Company.

Dear Sir,I am writing to you
regarding the photo on your site of the 1st
Shettleston Company, The Boys' Brigade, 1911.
The Company still exists, and recently
marked its 110th year of formation.
I am a serving Officer in the 94th Glasgow (1st
Shettleston).
One of our Boy's parents found your website and
passed it on to me.
The original of this photograph (at least, I think
it's the original) is hanging on the wall of our
Company office at Shettleston Old Parish
Church, 111 Killin Street, Glasgow. The
building behind the group in the picture appears
to be the front door of the church.
I was very interested to find your site, and was
pleasantly surprised to learn that the 941S had
made it onto the internet. On behalf of our Boys
and Staff, I would like to convey our appreciation
of your work in creating and maintaining a website
of such historical interest to the BB.
