" I can remember getting all the younger lads ready to attack the Officers bedroom. Me standing at the hallway door, boot polish in hand. One of the officers had put a brush behind the door, which I managed to remove.
I got all the lads wound up ready for attack and pushed the door open only to jump on the officer on the bottom bunk, looking round all the lads had run of leaving me to be boot polished by big Jas and I think yourself, Wull !. I can also remember some very scary local girls but I wont go into that..........."

"...t
hey say in life the things you always remember best are the things which were important to you. Things like a Flounder has orange spots and a Plaice has red spots. Any time anyone mentions a Flounder or a Plaice I always think of the time Big Jas took me down to the beach at St Cyrus fishing. I had never used a beachcaster or a multiplier before and ended up with a massive birds nest whereas Big Jas caught 2 Plaice (red spots).
I was working in Montrose about 15 years ago at a chemical plant and my digs were in St Cyrus. I was there for 4 months and got to know some of the locals. I made some enquiries while I was there and unfortunately I have some bad news for Big Jas:- " Big Gladys is married with a family so the Big Man has missed his chance!"
While I was staying there I took a walk up to see the old manse. The old stable part where we stayed is now a cottage industry make-up manufacturer. I spoke to the woman who owns it and explained it used to be used for BB camps and she showed me inside but it has been all changed from when we were there."
